The real battle in Top Chef Texas beginning tonight, November 16, 2011. The top 16 will compete for the Quickfire and Elimination challenge to stay in the competition, creating a dish with given ingredients or theme. What will the chefs need to create tonight? Who will be the first chef to get eliminated?
For the first Quickfire challenge, the chefs will be tasked to create a savory dish from rattlesnakes since there are tons of it in Texas. Will they be able to make a dish out of it? Who will win this challenge?
Meanwhile, in the elimination challenge, the chefs must cater a Quinciñera party, a celebration of a girl’s fifteenth birthday in the Mexican culture. The challenge is still related to Texas, in San Antonio specifically, which is rich in Mexican culture and lifestyle. The contestants must provide a 100% authentic Mexican feast using all original Mexican ingredients. Who will win this challenge?
Chef Johnny Hernandez joins Tom Colicchio and Hugh Acheson criticize the dishes.
By the way, have you watched the first episode of the Last Chance Kitchen? It’s another new from the show which is only available online, on Bravo TV’s website. The first battle was between Andrew and Janine. Andrew won the challenge where they must create a pizza in thirty minutes. He has to win against every eliminated chef for this season in order to get back into the main competition, something like Top Chef’s Redemption Island.
Will he win the challenge again tonight? He will most likely head to head with the chef who will be sent home tonight.
